Superior torsional stiffness

 

Wiser features a forged, cage-type monobloc planet carrier that supports the gears on both sides.

 

This architecture provides:

 

  • higher torsional stiffness than entry-level designs such as Heliks,

  • better stability of the planetary gear train,

  • and adequate acceleration capability for medium-duty applications.

The planet carrier is also monobloc with the output shaft, increasing precision and robustness under controlled load conditions.

 

Food-grade applications

 

  • The internal forged-steel ring gear is bolted to the aluminum housing, unlike the monobloc configurations used in more dynamic product lines.
  • Although this construction limits the overall stiffness, it offers a major advantage for specific environments: when supplied without paint, the aluminum housing is naturally protected by a layer of alumina (Al₂O₃), a stable, non-reactive and highly corrosion-resistant oxide.
  • This makes Wiser compatible with humid or food-grade operating environments.
  • The gearbox can also be supplied with a 316L stainless-steel output shaft, delivered unpainted and filled with food-grade lubricant, to fully meet the requirements of food-processing or high-humidity applications.

 

Dual-support planet-carrier guidance

 

The cage-type planet carrier is supported by two ball bearings positioned on each side of the gear mesh, increasing resistance to output-shaft tilting and protecting the gear train from misalignment under load.

 

This optimized guidance:

 

  • limits output-shaft inclination, and consequently:

  • protects the internal ring gear and planet gears from misalignment-related damage,

  • and ensures stable behavior in applications with moderate load variations.

Backlash stability over time

 

The WISER range uses carburized and quenched helical gears. Their helix angle is kept to the minimum required in order to limit the axial forces generated during meshing.

 

These gears ensure:

 

  • angular backlash that remains stable over time,

  • excellent fatigue resistance,

  • consistent and repeatable behavior even under significant load,

  • quiet operation thanks to the smooth contact ratio provided by the helical toothing.

 

Especially suitable for:

 

  • applications with moderate radial and axial loads,

  • cost-efficient axes with standard duty cycles,

  • operation in humid or food-grade environments (with the food-grade option),

  • systems requiring low backlash without extreme rigidity requirements,

  • projects where competitiveness is a key factor without compromising reliability.

 

Fast and secure connection

 

The motor-shaft interface uses a high-precision balanced coupling, designed to minimize loads on the motor bearings and ensure smooth, vibration-free operation.

Installation is quick and intuitive thanks to a single-bolt clamping system on the motor shaft, providing a firm and reliable assembly.

 

Each gearbox is supplied with a motor-specific adapter flange, ready for immediate integration.
