Safe standards and tools

 

  • All components are designed following the latest updates of the ISO / DIN / AGMA standards. We recommend the ISO 6336-2 standard for gears and the ISO/TS 16281 for bearings as they offer the safest results.
  • Our software suite includes Romax and Solidworks.

 

Our comprehensive approach:

When a gearbox is designed by our engineers, gears and bearings are not calculated / designed separately, but as a system, as they interfere with each other. For instance:

 

  1. helical gears generate axial loads on the bearings, thus reducing their load capacity and / or lifespan
  2. bearing compression adds to the tilting of the shaft to deteriorate gear flanks
  3. bearing damage will accelerate gear deterioration

  1. Quickly assess system and component loads, deflections and misalignments and size and refine the gearbox layout
  2. Integrate your existing system in the design, so the loads generated by your output gear / pulley etc are taken into account in the calculation
  3. Calculate component ratings over duty cycles according to common engineering standards
  4. Perform detailed stress analysis on components such as loaded tooth contact analysis (LTCA) and root stress analysis and optimise details like micro-geometry while accounting for manufacturing
  5. Run parametric studies to find optimum designs, assess sensitivity and predict robustness to manufacturing variability
  6. Collaborate with peers internally and externally, who may use different tools, while maintaining data accuracy with ease through various import and export options
