We check each and every component

We can recommend the smartest combination of gearbox ratio, pinion number of teeth and module, as well as the rack prcision and hardness, to maximize the lifespan and performance of the entire system. If you are working on a design featuring a pulley-and-belt system, we will be happy to help you define the right ratio between the pulleys so the gearbox lasts longer and works better.

Each component inside the gearbox will have a different lifespan when a certain ratio is used instead of another. the screen copies below and on the right illustrate how deep our enginners go when they take care of your application engineering.

Why you should always use our free assistance rather than selecting your gearbox from a website or a catalog:

Standard catalog ratings are honest and secure. However a planetary stage does not have only one torque rating, and catalog ratings ignore the way you plan to use the gearbox:

  1. Gears are extremely sensitive to misalignment : any load on the shaft will have a dramatic influence on the lifespan of the internal gears, or on the torque acceptable for a certain duration (see our dedicated article inthe knowledge center)
  2. Torque ratings, speed, vibration, temperature, number of reversals and lifespan are interrelated. The torque which is acceptable for 20,000 hours is not the same as the one that a gearbox can accept for 50,000 or just 5,000 hours
  3. The choice of gearbox model will be different if you need the backlash to remain stable over the years, or if it's acceptable for you to have a higher backlash year after year.
  4. You can get the same acceleration and speed using diffent ratios combined with different number of teeth on the output pinion (or pulley diametre), however the machine will not behave the same way (stiffness and precision will differ) and its lifespan can easily double when the combination was selected by experts.
